Safaris
|
Welcome to our section on Safaris. We concentrate mostly on South African safari regions but in truth, there are excellent safari opportunites in Botswana (see our Safari example holiday), Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Nambia. Please email any of our consultants for more information. There are 5 main areas for safaris in South Africa: Eastern Cape (approx. 500 miles north east from Cape Town), Kruger Park (approx. 300 miles due east from Johannesburg), Madikwe (approx. 200 miles north west from Pretoria), Waterberg (about 125 miles north of Pretoria) and Kwazulu Natal (Central east coastal area). Each of these regions are able to offer Big 5 viewing. The Kruger and northern Kwazulu Natal are classified as malaria areas and medication must be taken as a precaution. Favourites in terms of private game reserves include Shamwari (6 lodges in Eastern Cape), Kariega (4 lodges in Eastern Cape), Singita (5 lodges in Kruger), Phinda (6 lodges in Kwazulu Natal) and Madikwe (22 lodges). Below are a selection of lodges that we feel will be able to offer excellent viewing opportunities. |
