Family Holidays
This is a 14 night example of what we can organise for an exciting family holiday. It includes 5*, 4* and luxury self catering accommodation, a fabulous safari as well as a stay at Sun City - a haven for children and adults alike!
DAY ONE
Depart London Heathrow to Port Elizabeth via Johannesburg O R Tambo Airport
DAY TWO
Today you will arrive at Port Elizabeth Airport in the Eastern Cape. You will pick up your hire car (self drive) and drive to the stunning Kariega Private Game Reserve. Here you will stay at 4* Kariega Lodge in a spacious 2 bedroomed 2 bathroom ensuite log cabin with deck for 3 nights. Arrive in time for lunch then check in and prepare for your first exciting evening game drive!
All food and game drives are included
DAY THREE
Greet your first early morning in the bush! Join your ranger for tea and rusks, then off on your game drive as the sun comes up! Return to the lodge to share your sighting tales with fellow guests over a sumptuous breakfast.
From then the kids can play in the pool, or go on a bush walk with the ranger whilst the parents relax and get ready for lunch and the afternoon game drive
DAY FOUR
Today after the morning drive and breakfast you might like to spend the day at the beach at nearby Kenton on Sea - the lodge will prepare a picnic lunch and you will be taken either by road or by boat to the beach and bring you back in time for the evening game drive.
DAY FIVE
Check out of Kariega Lodge and self drive to the beautiful coastal town of Plettenberg. Plettenberg has great beaches and lots of activies for families.
Check into the lovely Tarn Country House - set on a large estate with beautiful views of the mountains and a river trail for the kids to explore
You will stay for 4 nights in two interlinking rooms on a b & b basis
Tarn has a great restaurant and bar with food prepared by the resident chef using veggies from his organic garden!
DAY SIX
Today after breakfast you can relax in the grounds of the hotel, swim in the pool, or set off for a trip to one of the areas stunning beaches.
In the afternoon why not take an Ocean safari from Central Beach (spot the whales in season) and in the evening drive down to nearby Keurbooms Beach and dine al fresco at Enrico overlooking the ocean and the rocks. Fabulous at sundown!
DAY SEVEN
Another day beckons! Take the kids to nearby Monkeyland and Birds of Eden. In the afternoon have a wonderful experience at the Elephant Sanctuary at The Crags. Here you can walk with the elephants, brush them down and put them to bed after an elephant back ride!
DAY EIGHT
Your last day in Plettenberg. Spend the day relaxing in the beautiful grounds of Tarn, or have another day at the beach. If you are feeling energetic take the kids on a tree top Canopy Tour, or kayaking from Central Beach.
DAY NINE
Today you will check out and self drive an hour or so drive to the town of George. At George Airport you will leave your hire car and depart on a domestic flight to Cape Town (approx 45 mins)
At Cape Town you will pick up your hire car and self drive the heart of Cape Town - the V & A Waterfront. Here you will stay for 4 nights in a serviced luxury Marina Apartment on a self catering basis. The apartments offer wonderful views of the marina and the Waterfront or Table Mountain and the complex offers two swimming pools and a gym. Check in and then explore the Waterfront on foot from your apartment. There is always something happening at this vibrant location!
DAY TEN - TWELVE
You will spend the next 3 days exploring Cape Town and surroundings - a trip to the top of Table Mountain is a must, visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Rock or ride up the Funicular at Cape Point - look over the ocean, the next stop is the Antartic! Visit Camps Bay beach for relaxing, or Llandudno Beach for surfing! Robben Island tours depart from the Waterfront regularly and is an education to see where Nelson Mandela spent 22 years in captivity.
DAY THIRTEEN
Today you check out of your apartment and self drive to Cape Town International Airport. Return your hire car and take a flight to Johannesburg O R Tambo International. At the airport you will be met by our private transfer company and be transported by road to the amazing Sun City Resort. Here you will stay for 3 nights at the 5* Sun City Hotel on a b & b basis
DAY FOURTEEN & FIFTEEN
Sun City Resort has so much to offer! The family can enjoy The Valley of Waves, hot air ballooning, quad biking, safari, and special children's activities programme. Mum can relax by the pool or in the spa and dad can have a round of golf at one of the top class courses.
In the evening dine at one of the great restaurant choices and take in one of the big production shows. You can make the stay as busy or as relaxing as you wish!
DAY SIXTEEN
Day of departure. Check out of Sun City Hotel and be transferred by our private transfer company to Johannesburg O R Tambo International and check in for your international flight to London Heathrow
