General Information

This private game reserve has grown from strength to strength in the past 10 years to the point where it rivals many of the long existing reserves in the country.

There are more than 9000 hectares of prime african bush and offers the opportunity to see the Big 7 (includes Cheetah and Hippo).

Kariega Main Lodge offers families, friends and couples a relaxed and friendly environment to enjoy the African bush.

All the log chalets are air conditioned, with en-suite bedrooms, and large private viewing decks. Each has a spacious lounge and living area which is great for socializing before retreating to the privacy and comfort of your bedroom.

The lodge has been expertly integrated with the surrounding bush to create a natural environment where the guests can enjoy traditional meals in the restaurant or boma, a drink at the bar or a quiet a swim in the pool.

As is the case with all Safari lodges, all meals are prepared in house. All the chefs are well versed in meeting the special dietary requirenments that guests may have. All meals are included in the price at Main Lodge

There are 21 Log chalets, varying from on to three bedrooms with large private viewing decks (some with private pools) offering privacy and stunning views of the Kariega River valley. All the log chalets are air-conditioned, with en-suite bedrooms, fire place and satellite TV's.

Child policy

All children are welcome - baby sitting facitlies available. Children under 5 years old can also enjoy game drives although for safety reasons, the game ranger will use his/her discretion as to the specific areas to go so as to not come into close contact with the more dangerous animals.
