Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.

Weather wise, the best months to visit are April through to September as the days are mild in the low 20's although cold at night. However, because the region has summer rainfall, the is less dense vegetation in winter making spotting animals easier. The summer days are hot - in the low 30's with the nights being lovely and balmy.

Staying in Kruger National Park or one of the surrounding private game reserves is ideal during a visit to South Africa.
