If you wish to discover the wines of South Africa, where better to start than in Cape Town! Firstly, visit the Constantia Wine Region just outside the city and discover some of the oldest wine farms in SA before moving out the famous Cape Winelands towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. From here you will continue on to the more rural areas of Robertson and Montagu on Route 62. Stop along the way to enjoy the quaint town of Oudtshoorn. Famous for its Ostrich Farms and the Cango Caves, this town is to be enjoyed for its history and quirky ‘Ostrich Palace’ architecture from the Victorian era. Complete the trip with a 3 nights stay at the stunning coastal area of Plettenberg Bay where you will not only find lots of wildlife and adventure activities, you can visit the newer small wine producers at the heart of the Garden Route. Staying at some of the bigger and most famous winelands’ towns, to the smaller folksy wine producing areas, this itinerary offers a diversity of experience and taste, plus some history and wildlife along the way. We can make recommendations on visits to various wine estates to compliment this super holiday example. This holiday does not include safari, but it can be altered to incorporate a safari experience on request.
