14 Night Family 4* & 5*, Cape Town, Garden Route & Safari Itinerary

DAY ONE – FOUR
Today you arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will collect your hire car and self-drive into the vibrant city of Cape Town. Here you will stay for 4 nights at the lovely V & A Waterfront Marina complex with undercover free of charge parking. Check into your super 2 bed Luxury Apartment. Explore the main Waterfront on foot, take a trip on the double decker tourist buses (hop on hop off), enjoy a cable car trip to the top of Table Mountain, sail out to Robben Island, take a picnic down to Camps Bay beach, visit some markets, take a helicopter flip over the city … the choices are endless in this stunning city.

DAY FIVE & SIX
Today you will self-drive to the famous Cape Winelands town of Stellenbosch. Here you will stay just outside of town amongst the vines at the thatched Wedgeview Country House & Spa. The town of Stellenbosch is the oldest town in the Cape and has a great mix of architecture, a café society and is home to the University of Stellenbosch. The wine farms that surround the town offer not only wine tasting for the adults but other activities for the kids such as the Lion Sanctuary, The Birds of Prey Sanctuary, Classic Car Museum, country markets with music and an eclectic mix of street food.  

DAY SEVEN & EIGHT
Today you will self-drive to the unspoilt beach area of Wilderness. You will check into the relaxing Cinnamon Boutique Hotel where you will stay in a family room. Wilderness has an endless unspoilt sandy beach which is great for walking, kite flying, picnics etc., and it has a quaint village centre with lots of restaurant choices. The famous Ostrich town of Oudtshoorn is a 45 min drive inland which offers wildlife activities including Cheetah at The Cango Ranch, the Ostrich Show Farms and the famous Cango Caves which are fun to visit.

DAY NINE – TWELVE
You will continue on the Garden Route to the main town of Plettenberg Bay. Here you will stay at the wonderful Hog Hollow in a family loft suite on a bed and breakfast plus kiddie’s dinner basis. The Plett area abounds with wildlife and adventure activities, beaches, nature reserve, ocean safaris, Elephant encounters, Monkeyland to name but a few. It is also in close proximity to the other famous Garden Route Lagoon town of Knysna so a day out there and a trip of the Paddle Steamer is a fun thing to do.

DAY THIRTEEN & FOURTEEN
Today you will set off on the road to your exciting safari destination. Leaving after breakfast you should aim to reach the Main Lodge at Kariega Private Game Reserve by for lunch and check in to your spacious 2 bed Log Cabin. After lunch you will relax before joining your fellow guests for your first afternoon game drive followed by your evening meal back at the Lodge. Day two you will rise early for the first game drive of the day returning in time for breakfast. The day is then yours at leisure until lunchtime. There are activities available on the reserve such as canoeing, fishing and hiking. Your ranger will be happy on request to accompany you on a nature walk. After lunch your day continues as Day One. On your last morning you will again rise early to get out to see the animals before the temperatures rise. On return you will enjoy breakfast before check out at 10h00.
You will return your hire car at Port Elizabeth Airport and check in for your connecting flight to the UK. (Flights not included )
