General Information

There two lodges at Ulusaba. One is perched high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill) and we call it Rock Lodge. It is here where you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, and the beauty of the lowveld (bushy grassland plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountain range far in the distance.

Rock Lodge is the epitome of luxury safari accommodation in South Africa. As Ulusaba is a Private Game Reserve the service, facilities and suites are all excellent.

Choosing Rock Lodge as your base during your safari in South Africa will not only mean you'll be receiving first class treatment but you will also be entitled to access to the many facilities and activities offered by the safari lodge. When you're not being kept busy by a walking safari or a game drive you could indulge in an aroma therapy beauty treatment or thrash it out in the fully equipped gymnasium.

Rock Lodge, located in Sir Richard Branson's Ulusaba Private Game Reserve, offers luxurious accommodation and world class service to guests on safari in South Africa.

Restaurants

As with other lodges in the region, Rock Lodge takes care of all its own catering arrangements as all clients stay on a fully inclusive basis.

Accommodation comprises of two new Makwela Suites, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and a stunning stand alone, split level Master Suite, which is sure to bring out the romantic in you. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for those wishing to bring little cubs of their own!
All rooms & suites have airconditioning and fans.
All rooms include tea and coffee making facilities as well as a complimentary, fully stocked mini bar.

Children of all ages are very welcome at Rock Lodge, however we don't allow children or infants at Safari Lodge.

Children are welcome to participate in game drives but unfortunately are not able to participate in Safari Walks.

Infants are not able to participate in our regular game viewing schedule however we do operate a Kids Programme at Rock Lodge complete with an Ulusaba Activity Book, games, books and lots more.

Baby-sitting is available at no extra cost.

As with any guest, special food and beverage requests can be accommodated, however we will need advance notice. Simple snacks and light meals for children such as sandwiches can be prepared at the lodge on request.

Rates for infants and children

Infants are free provided they are sharing with at least one adult.

Children are charged as follows:

1 child sharing with 1 adult is charged R 2,000 plus the Single Occupancy Rate (for the adult).

1 child in his/her own room is charged the adult Single Occupancy Rate.

2 or more children in their own room are charged the Single Occupancy Rate plus

R 2,000 per child per night.

In some rooms we can accommodate children on rollaway or fold out beds. In these cases where adults are paying double or triple rates, extra children will be accommodated at a reduced rate per child, per night. Occasionally due to restrictions on the number of guests and vehicles allowed on Sabi Sand Reserve, we may not be able to accommodate extra children in rooms - please contact us for details.
